Wine Pairings by @grapefriend

I love a grapefruity New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with pesto. And it’s bold enough to hold up to the bacon, too.

Beer Pairings

Grab an amber lager—the combination of malty sweetness and dry bitterness makes it the perfect pair for the tomatoes and basil.

TK Table Talk:

What is special about the place where you grew (or are growing) up?

What To Do:

1. Bacon and chicken may arrive slightly frozen. Thaw as needed.

2. Prep Ingredients: Chop bacon. Set aside some basil leaves for garnish; chop remaining basil.

5. Cook Chicken: Cut chicken into bite-size pieces. Add to bacon drippings. Cook 3 to 4 minutes or until browned. Remove from skillet.

6. Finish Sauce: Add tomatoes to drippings in skillet. Add ¼ cup pasta water. Cover and cook 3 minutes or until tomatoes burst. Remove from heat. Stir in pesto, pasta, chicken, bacon, and arugula. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

To Serve: Stir chopped basil into pasta, and divide pasta between 4 serving plates. Garnish with reserved basil leaves.

Pro Tip:

Forget to save the pasta water? Stir ¼ teaspoon salt into ¼ cup hot water to replace what went down the drain.
Spice it Up!: Add ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper to the sauce to give it a kick.

Sure, our TK food containers are recyclable, but we’d rather you upcycle them first. We’re partial to using them to sprout our garden seeds, but we’d love to see how creative you are! Tag us in your photos with @terraskitchen and #terraskitchen.
